It has been one busy day! I was up early to make another batch of cupcakes and frost them all...they turned out ok I think, especially considering decorating with frosting is just.not.my.thing.:)
The cabinet guy then came and reinstalled my door that the paint had started peeling on. Uuuugh! I ran the cupcakes to school for Will's birthday treat to share, had an impromptu conference with his teacher who tells me he is doing well, ran back home because I forgot to give Max his morning dose of antibiotics. Yes, this is a run on sentence...that's how things were going - run, run, run. I then went to Walmart to return some things and pick up the birthday present.
I got home and did a few things around the house, and my hubs called and said he had to go on a business trip...now. Deep breath. He took off and then I wrapped the gift and frosted the last of the cupcakes so Tommy could have one like I promised. The boys got home, Will opened his gift...LOVED IT! We all left to pick up his birthday cake and then went to McDonald's (YUCK!) per his request for dinner.
At the end of this busy day, my big 7 year old told me that he had a great day and he loved me. Ok, maybe the love part happened after he got the Nintendo DS for his birthday.:) He is still glued to the thing.
I'm a happy, content mom who has a happy, content son...sigh and smile.
Happy Birthday to your son! My son just turned 7 last month. Such a fun age! I'm a nurse, too. I work very part time on the weekends. :)
